Siemens received a large order from the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia has put forward to Siemens group requirements once again. On Thursday, Siemens said that they will provide a driverless metro (worth 1.5 billion euros) to the Saudi capital, Riyadh. And also provide electronic system, signal technology; and will be responsible for the construction of 2 lines and will provide 74 trains to the Riyadh. The project won the Bechtel group, the local architectural Almabani financial support as well as the general contractor, this batch of subway is expected to officially run in 2018.

Saudi Arabia gradually developed into the important market within Siemens group. Recently Siemens won an energy technology order and preempted the GE group's share of this local for a long time. The driverless metro project with train technology is the biggest order from Saudi Arabia.

Riyadh, plans to build six subway lines, 175 km orbit, will become the world's biggest subway project, and this will also reduce the traffic in this city. This train will be leaving every 90 seconds, transporting 21000 passengers an hour, with air conditions to alleviate the heat in the Saudi peninsula.
